MiColtivo. The Green Circle

MiColtivo. The Green Circle is the cultural project promoted by the Foundation in collaboration with Fondazione Nicola Trussardi and Confagricoltura, an urban agriculture dedicated path, which has the institutional support of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry, the Regione Lombardia and the Comune di Milano. The project is part of the program of civic initiatives – cultural devoted to Porta Nuova Smart Community, promoted by Riccardo Catella Foundation in 2015.

The initiative MiColtivo. The Green Circle provided a circular route through a wide pedestrian promenade linking four main stages:

1) Wheatfield by Agnes Denes:
Wheatfield by American artist landscaping Agnes Denes, located in the center of the area that will house the future public park the “Biblioteca degli Alberi”. The 50,000 square meters of this area were planted with wheat involving citizens in agricultural activities of seed and collection

The natural elements become specific work materials, through a suggestive action on a large scale at the center of the city

28 February 2015 – SEEDS OF WHEATFIELD

9 July 2015 – HARVEST FESTIVAL

2) OPPORTUNITIES with the exhibition dedicated to MiColtivo. The Green Circle at the ground floor of the headquarters of the Foundation Riccardo Catella

3) “We Grow Together!” an area of 4,000 square meters with vegetable garden and orchard, managed in synergy with the “Ratanà” Restaurant and the HighFlowers ortisti, planning learning activities and on the cultivation and nutrition for children and families
The educational workshops in the garden began in the month of May 2015 with great success.

4) Interactive kiosks installed in the vicinity of the Porta Nuova accesses.

The totems dual touch, strongly rooted in the urban context, through organic forms, were created with the aim of informing the community.

All contents and information are also available on the portal of the Porta Nuova Smart Community on the web and on the mobile.
