Fondazione Riccardo Catella promotes the Porta Nuova Smart Camp project in collaboration with Dynamo Camp and L'abilità Onlus .
Thanks to the co-planning of the activities by the involved Associations, the project offered 43 children for free 5 days of educational and recreational activities, some disabled and suffering from serious and chronic diseases. All activities were designed in an accessibility and inclusion logic for all children.
Porta Nuova Smart Camp is a pilot project that combines children with special needs in a common experience with other peers, with the aim of creating an inclusion and sharing of experiences moment with an attention to the well-being of all.
From Monday 9 to Friday 13 July a team of over 20 professionals and volunteers qualified has accompanied the children to discover the public spaces and green areas around the Fondazione Riccardo Catella through a unique educational and gaming experience.
The connection between nature, substainable architecture and technological innovation that characterizes the smart soul of the Porta Nuova district was the focus of the Porta Nuova Smart Camp recreational activities: outdoor activities such as garden therapy, workshop about radio, musical and circus, visits to high-tech companies and to sustainable and inclusive building in the neighborhood such as the headquarters of COIMA, Samsung District and Volvo Studio.
The activities were proposed according to the Recreational Therapy of Dynamo Camp, aimed at leisure and fun but above all to reacquire children with serious diseases confidence in themselves and in their abilities, together with the psychoeducative method of L'abilità Onlus, which for years research and structure activities adapted to the needs of children with disabilities, with the aim of giving them back the right and pleasure of the game.
Porta Nuova Smart Camp was born from the synergy between non-profit organizations that have already started collaborations on the themes of inclusion: from the project "The Park of Children's Rights" with which in 2008 the collaboration between FRC and L'abilità Onlus skill began. initiative of the 2016 "Christmas Tombolata with snack" by FRC and Dynamo Camp.
The Camp pilot project is sponsored by the Comune di Milano and Fondazione Cariplo and supported, as Main Partner, by COIMA.
