Programma SRPI

The responsible development of the territory and the buildings requires the involvement of various stakeholders including the public authorities, local communities, investors and non-profit organizations. In this perspective, a responsible and sustainable approach must be an integral part of the real estate sector.

Since 2006, the Fondazione Riccardo Catella (FRC) is actively promoting the best practices in land development and real estate projects and in 2012 launched a cultural program about Socially Responsible Investment Real Estate with the aim of favoring the deepening of principles of responsibility and sustainability in land management and real estate, in collaboration with industry associations and operators.

In 2012, the FRC, in collaboration with COIMA SGR, publishes a first protocol on Real Estate Investment Managers (RPI), publicly presented October 23, 2012, which contains an overview of the most significant international studies and a set of useful tools that can help implement sustainability goals throughout the industry.

In 2013, the Fondazione Riccardo Catella signs a protocol with the Association of Sustainable Finance Forum (FFS) to jointly promote a multi-year program dedicated to sustainable and responsible real estate investment theme (SRPI, Sustainable Responsible Property Investment) with the objective of create greater awareness on the economic-financial value and provide practical tools for the responsible and sustainable management of real estate portfolios, through research, promotion and dissemination of good practices developed in the market

In 2014 Fondazione Riccardo Catella and the Sustainable Finance Forum have launched the activities, with the support of COIMA SGR, constituting a Working Group (WG) multi-stakeholders, with the participation, among others, asset management, trade associations, companies consulting, law firms and logistics company. The WG produced the first sustainable real estate investment manual and responsible in Italy for operators in the real estate sector, containing concrete guidelines and case studies for the implementation of tools and practices responsible and sustainable investment in the real estate investment process, with reference to environmental, social and good corporate governance (ESG). The manual was presented November 7, 2014 at the event “A sustainable perspective for the real estate investment in Italy” promoted by Fondazione Riccardo Catella and Forum of Sustainable Finance, at the Third Week of Sustainable and Responsible Investment .

By the interest aroused by the initiative at some institutional investors, Fondazione Riccardo Catella and Forum for Sustainable Finance are organizing for November 17, 2015 a general in-depth workshops on the theme “Investing in Real Estate redevelopment: good practices and future prospects” – to be held as part of the 2015 SRI Week – during which you intend to bring out proposals and addresses on the theme to set up the Working Group that SBB and FRC will activate in 2016.
